Font - I've been working from home for the last few years and I've found that my dogs have managed to teach themselves that me taking my headset off means it's time to come and hassle me for treats/attention! Has anyone else's dog started developing weird working from home quirks?

Rectangle - debicksy · 11 hr. ago I sometimes don't say goodbye at the end of a call and keep talking out loud so I can keep working. They're pretty smart!

Font - v2ikepeniponiDonna · 10 hr. ago My dog learned that if I start a meeting with a formal hello (instead of my language's version of hi!) then it's time to shut up - that meant having clients and if she wanted to stay in the room she'd have to behave. If I started it with hi (like when calling to family and friends) then she'd get all excited and start barking and fussing.

Font - DistinctMeringue · 9 hr. ago They are so smart. My childhood dog knew that when dad put down his fork at dinner it was time to go for a walk. Taught my dad to drink that last cup of coffee while holding on to his fork if he didn't want to be dragged out of the house by a 10 Ibs dictator. When working from home, I work with my keyboard in my lap, my dogs come running when I put my keyboard down... There's a reason we've been their "staff" for the last 60,000 years or so.

Font - birdtoesanonymous · 11 hr. ago korean village dog I don't wfh, but when I was a kid my dad used to have long conference calls at home that would last for hours, and I remember that both me and my dog really quickly learned what it sounded like when he was wrapping up. There was no specific word cue, but his tone of voice would change. My dog would get up and start hovering at his desk or at the door to his office. He once told me it motivated him to actually get off the phone (he's one of

Font - Ietsmetdingen · 8 hr. ago My mom has this with coffee. Whenever she gets coffee from the kitchen and sits down on the couch, her dog wants to go out. She unknowingly always says "I can't ever have a cup of coffee in peace" A while ago when I was visiting I jokingly said "I can't even have a cup of coffee in peace" to kinda poke fun of her a bit and IMMEDIATELY the dog walked over to the back door and looked at me

Font - LordessCass · 10 hr. ago Kino: Kelpie Mix, Juri: GSD Mix My dogs are the opposite. As soon as I get on the phone, it's time to play fight and make a lot of noise. They're lucky they're cute. However, they do both come into my office at 5 sharp and stare at me, asking for a walk, so that's pretty cute of them.

Font - McCritter · 9 hr. ago · edited 3 hr. ago I don't wear a headset, so my dog hears everything on calls. He inadvertently learned the signoff sound, so when he hears other people signing off he'll run over to me for treats and attention.

Font - jenryalee · 10 hr. ago Yes! He recognizes that my last meeting of the day usually ends at 4pm; when it runs later, he definitely boops my legs like, "Mom! Work is over! It's time for PLAY!" I've gotten into the habit of phasing out my work laptop and using 1 for everything. It's helped; I just switch desktops between work/personal, so I try to end with a few minutes of personal time so he doesn't form associations with cues. For example, I'll end a zoom call "Okay, bye!" and then take a 1
